Description
Thank you for viewing.
These are Tsugaru-nuri (Tsugaru lacquerware) coasters from Aomori Prefecture, a traditional craft.
The unique speckled pattern is created using a technique called Kara-nuri, where lacquers of different colors are repeatedly applied and then polished to create this complex abstract pattern.
They are used as saucers placed under teacups when serving tea.
*Although the item is new and unused, the box has some minor dirt due to age, but the coasters themselves are in beautiful condition.
